Weekend Read: From Frustration to Possible

I had a conversation recently with a friend who had a dream, but didn’t yet know they did.

It started with me listening, this person venting about  their current position; a  job they could love- if only a million things were different.

I reminded them of what they already knew in their heart; it is what it is. You can’t change that situation, you can only change how you feel about it. It’s pretty satisfying to give yourself that new power.

The venting complete and sanity restored, I asked this person, “Let me float an idea…”

I floated. They listened.

Now, the best part; my phone friend took my ridiculous suggestion and started to make it real. They started to visualize the possible. We discussed roadblocks, challenges and options.

My friend was getting excited now- a voice  shedding frustration and filling with energy. What a joy to listen to their words.

When I hung up the phone, I knew my friend had just started a company.

And they did it all by themselves.
