The Cliches of a Tragedy

hands to ears

the noise is deafening

no one is saying anything

because they are blaming

posturing

profiting

chit chat

why

there are never answers to why

but we still ask

we have to

politicians do nothing

and too much

all too well

 everyone will be wrong

because no one can predict

when the lone wolf strikes

the graphics melt our screens

the anchors read drama

the images burn in our minds

for what

a day

a month

and we forget

we always forget

on to the next thing

since there are no answers

i am turning it off

and praying it never happens again
