The Setback that Stops Our Work

My uncle died last week.

We have sent him on his way to the pearly gates, and I’m so happy for him that he won’t suffer any longer. Our problems and annoyances are mostly minuscule compared to what this guy had to carry around for decades.

The words have not been easy to come by for a week.

Life shows up. We have a plan and we are barreling ahead, focused and determined, then something runs us off the path and straight into the ditch.

Reinvention is really hard. There is nothing romantic about the journey, at least most of the time. The fun starts at the starting line.

But go easy on yourself if life slows you down occasionally. You’ll be back.

I’m going to go find some words. More tomorrow. It’s good to be back.
