My cell rang in my office a few minutes ago.
“Hey, you got a minute?” Sam (not his real name) wanted to tell me about what happened at his office last week.
After he finished his “Office Space” tale, I told him he was ground hogging – waking up every day and doing the same thing, but at different companies along the way.
Then we talked about his education. He’s got plenty.
A few minutes later, I congratulated him. ” You just eloquently described your new career. It’s a combination of your undergrad, master’s studies and real-world experience. I believe you are qualified to do this new job, now!”
Sam laughed. ‘What new career did I so eloquently describe?”
I repeated what he had excitedly described a few minutes earlier.
“That’s it, man,” I said. “Get in touch on LinkedIn with someone who works in that space and ask him if you are employable today.”
” I will!”
Yes, he will.
